Is the first session free? Yes!
Can I pay in cash? Yes!
Can you tutor multiple children at once? Yes, but you would need to pay $8 per extra child and it would need to be in the same subject/s.
Can you create lesson plans, or do I need to bring homework? I am more than happy to create lesson plans however, it does cost $6 extra.
How Do We Learn Together?
I tutor based on both the Australian curriculum and the child's needs. I firmly believe that education should be accessible to everyone and that needing extra help is not a sign that a child is 'dumb,' and should not be treated as such.
Tailored Lessons
I am aware that every child is different so, we will make sure to get to know the child as a person. Children's learning styles can be very similar to their personalities, and they are more likely to make progress if they want to be there.
Initial Assessment
In the first lesson I will invite both the child and a parent/s to attend. We will begin with some games, questions or a conversation depending on the age. We will then do an initial assessment in the area of concern so that I can understand what they are struggling with the most.
Learning Needs
I will ask you to fill out a few forms and one of them will be about learning needs. If the child does have any learning needs, it will be discussed with both the parents and the child to decide if the child will need any specific accommodations. You can also let me know if a child has any undiagnosed but suspected needs.
Aligned With Their School
I will ask you what school they go to or if they are homeschooled. While I will go by the Australian curriculum, it is imperritive that I understand rubrics and how their school grades to ensure the best results.
Tools
If a child requires a laptop/iPad or would like to bring their homework, that is allowed. If needed, stationary, books paper and technology will be 100% provided with no extra costs.
